You can darned near feel the wind through your hair during director Jon Danovic’s video for the new Distant Cousins’ single, “Your Story.” The soundtrack- and road trip-ready slice of pop-Americana is the latest from songwriting trio Ami Kozak, Dov Rosenblatt and Duvid Swirsky, and it features the talents of folk singer Jessie Payo (also doing her retro-blues thing in the new Pom Poms). Ever since they started melding their talents to write for film and television, Distant Cousins have displayed a knack for finely honed, harmony-rich classic rock, and they’ve been rewarded with a long string of song placements. One of their latest, “Are You Ready (On Your Own),” got a big look in the movie “This Is Where I Leave You.” Fans of Mumford & Sons (first wave) and Of Monsters & Men will want to take this one for a drive. Best-case scenario: In that very convertible.
