It’s didn’t take very long after their debut last fall for L.A. duo Royal Tongues to bounce to the top of the electro-pop heap. With a couple of EPs and singles, the duo of Aaron Bonus and Justin Gammella jumped into the slipstream of artists like Passion Pit and Foster the People, their buoyant, catchy synth-pop racking up a few million spins online. Their new single “Chasing Down a Feeling” is a little bit of a bait-and-switch, starting off with a ticklish guitar line accompanying the cherubic vocals. Then come the wash of synths and the ubiquitous four-on-the-floor beats. At which they are very, very good.
