Video: Seagoat, ‘Pins and Needles’

In February, Seagoat released a self-titled album of refined electronic pop that represented the work of singer-songwriter Colby Miller and producer-beatmaker Neal Harris. Now Miller is working on his own, readying a new batch of romantic entreaties that feel almost handcrafted. Notably, Seagoat’s new video for “Pins and Needles” is one of the first music videos ever made using Google’s Deep Dream code [more here], an artificial intelligence system that detects patterns and builds on them. There’s probably an algorithm in the works that writes the perfect love song, but until then we have people like Seagoat to mine our neural networks. Miller’s two new singles are downloadable below.
