Southern California-bred indie-rockers Delta Spirit have curated a music festival, and look whom they invited: Cold War Kids, Blonde Redhead, Beach Fossils, Tijuana Panthers and Guards.
All will be part of the inaugural Outpost Fest on Saturday, Nov. 14, in downtown Santa Ana. The six bands will perform on an outdoor stage to be erected in a parking lot at Bush Street and Santa Ana Boulevard, a couple blocks away from the Yost Theater.
With strong ties to Orange County, Cold War Kids and Delta Spirit came up through the SoCal club ranks in the mid-Aughts — so, for that matter, did Guards’ Richie James Follin and Loren Humphrey, who back then were in the O.C. rock band The Willowz. Delta Spirit supported Cold War Kids on one of the Kids’ first headlining tours in 2007, and Delta Spirit worked on their third album in the Cold War Kids’ rehearsal space.
General admission tickets are $40; VIP tickets are $80. Both go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
