We are usually wont to avoid both lyric videos and karaoke, but there’s something so light-hearted about the Bird and the Bee’s “Recreational Love” that we almost sang along ourselves. (Keep the mic far, far away.) Director Joe Stakun’s video stars Yohan Lee and Jaylee Chen in a charming-but-cheeseball boy-pursues-girl story, with the L.A. duo of Inara George and Greg Kurstin playing along as if they were the featured attraction on a first date. The song is the title track of the L.A. duo’s fourth album, out earlier this year. Save the weighty stuff for the second date; this is retro-pop with a wink and smile.
