Los Angeles has its Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theatre, two of the most stunning amphitheaters anywhere. But My Morning Jacket’s new video for “Compound Fracture” might still inspire some venue envy, especially since the band’s upcoming date is at neither of those L.A. locales. The “Compound Fracture” video was made in another spectacular setting, Colorado’s Red Rocks. The man responsible for the dreamy visuals is photographer/director Danny Clinch,  who explains that after helming the band’s live stream from Red Rocks, “we realized how cool it would be to cut a video from the time we spent there. My conversations with the band are always about how we can make the video strange, mysterious, and interesting.” Collaborating with editor Gabriel Judet-Weinshel, Clinch says, “We’ve created a modern take on psychedelia, which suits My Morning Jacket perfectly.” MMJ’s new album “The Waterfall” came out in May, and we suspect it was hardly sound or look like this at the L.A. date.
