The incarnation of the Melvins known as Melvins Lite convened at the Echo on Saturday night for a not-as-sludgy party to a big crowd. The lineup — Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Trevor Dunn — was the same one that in 2012 released the album “Freak Puke” and did an epic “51 States in 51 Days Tour.” That tour was recounted in a diary for SPIN magazine — and now it has been turned into the documentary “Across The USA in 51 Days: The Movie.” The film will be out Nov. 27 via Ipecac Recordings. The Melvins return to the Echo on Halloween night with a different show.
