Following his debut “Floating While Dreaming” last year, New Orleans triple-threat producer/rapper/singer Pell hooked up with TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek for work on his next album, and has been teasing tracks from it over the course of the last month, including “Café Du Monde” and “Queso.” Said album, “LIMBO,” is out today, via Sitek’s own label, Federal Prism. One of its standout tracks is “Almighty Dollar,” a multi-faceted banger produced by Sitek with a hard groove that sounds like a Neptunes beat with distorted synth breaks and quirky flourishes. Pell’s quick flow is on display as he raps about the woes lack of the almighty dollar cause, with lines like, “It ain’t easy for me, is it easy for you? / Cuz if life was really free, we’d have nothing to lose / I ain’t never said I got nothing to prove / but to keep my moms fed when I step in the booth.”
