British punk duo Slaves — whose album “Are You Satisfied?” was short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize — have postponed their North American tour after singer-drummer Isaac Holman sustained a dislocated shoulder while playing a show Wednesday night in Norwich.
The band had been scheduled to play the Constellation Room and the Echo this week.
Singer Benjamin Clementine won the Mercury Prize for the U.K. album of the year at the ceremony on Friday night.
Slaves issued the following statement: “This is a message for anyone who is planning to come and see us on our December North American tour. Sadly, we are not going to be able to come and see you just yet. Isaac’s recently dislocated shoulder is still very sore and fragile and have been told it’s not strong enough to use without the risk of causing serious further damage. For that reason we have had to pull the tour. It’s a real shame and we are very sad to have had to come to this conclusion, but these things happen. We are human beings. We will make it up to you we promise.”
