YoubloomLA Music Festival & Conference returns for second year

The youbloomLA Music Festival and Conference — a sister event to one founded in Dublin, Ireland — returns to Los Angeles for a second year, with a day of music industry-related panel discussions and classes and three days of music showcases.

The festivities go off Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 10-12. The conference portion of youbloomLA takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Highland Park Ebell Club (131 S. Ave. 57), with educator and former record executive Tom Sturges as the keynote speaker. Classes and panels geared toward musicians will cover such topics as DIY recording, copyrights, monetization, syncs for independent artists and marketing.

Three nights of performances will feature about 50 artists over three venues: Griffins of Kinsale in South Pasadena; La Cuevita in Highland Park; and Old Towne Pub in Pasadena.

The cost is $25; $15 for students.
