Epic (but not necessarily “great”) moments in American history come to “life” in the new video for “Golden Parachutes,” a song from Desparecidos’ comeback album “Payola.” The video was written, animated and directed by Fantastic Heat Brothers Luke and Joe McGarry, the Orange County twins whose style is instantly recognizable from FYF flyers and other clients. Their tour of some of history’s important moments in the protest movement stars the caricatures of the Omaha punk band — Conor Oberst, Landon Hedges, Denver Dalley, Matt Baum and Ian McElroy, who in June released their first album “Read Music/Speak Spanish” in 2002. “Payola” is as gritty and pissed-off as any punk-rock record ought to be.
