Diving headlong into 2016? More like easing in, to tell you the truth. Tonight’s L.A. Buzz Bands Show on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) will feature some old sounds and some new — and music from a lot of bands playing shows in this first week of the new year. Most notable is a blast from The Outline, whose 10-year reunion show goes off Saturday night at the Troubadour. We’ll hear from four bands kicking off their January residencies this week (SWIMM, Magic Bronson, Omar Velasco and Brainstory). Plus, I have music from Haunted Summer (playing Wednesday at the Troubadour), Steady Holiday (Tuesday at the Satellite), Boroughs (Thursday at the Satellite), Ballerina Black (Friday at the Lost Knight) and Vinyl Williams (Saturday at the Teragram Ballroom). And some newbies to the show: Ramonda Hammer, Bad Wave and Ellie Mae and the Ricochets.
