Magic Wands

Los Angeles concerts for a rain Tuesday:

► With their long-awaited second full-length “Jupiter” due in February, Magic Wands headline the Echo. Puro Instinct — also with new music on the way — have been added to the show, which also features Channel and Beat Hotel.
► Psychedelic-soul mixologists Brainstory [see “A Natural Phantasm”] kick off a Tuesday night residency at the new downtown venue Resident. Get there early for Miss Chief and the Vim Dicta on the Buzz Bands LA-presented opening night.
► Big night of Americana at the Bootleg Theater, with Goodnight Texas and Whiskey Shivers doing an “LA Hootenanny.”
► Satellite Nights — the Silver Lake venue’s annual series of free shows kicking off the new year — continue with Beru, Steady Holiday, Bedouine and Sweet Bump It.
Teddy Thompson & Kelly Jones make sweet harmonies at an intimate show at the Lost Room, with Allison Pierce supporting.
► And the stealth show headlined by “Slopo & the Jackers” (um, not their real name), along with The Band (U.K.), goes off at the Silverlake Lounge.
