Newcomers WeareTheBigBang already have a reputation for their spirited live shows. They got their feet wet at Bonnaroo, SXSW and Make Music Pasadena, and their music has been featured in shows like “Teen Wolf” and “Dance Moms.”  The sextet — guitarist Luis Munoz, singer Cheyenne Jolene, keyboardist Oliver Lee, bassist Enrique Hinojosa, singer-guitarist Tambo Elaine Faye and percussionist Kyle Rector — met at Musicians Institute. The songs on their “Smoke” EP, released last summer, infuse soul, alternative and disco into hooky pop nuggets (think Fitz and the Tantrums), and the single “No” is an upbeat number crammed with nostalgia, dance rhythms and handclaps. The lighthearted video is very ’80s/Jane Fonda and just as nostalgic as the song. WeareTheBigBang seem like a party – the innocent, alcohol-free, PG-13 kind of party. In March, they start work on a new album with producer Darryl Swann (Macy Gray, Black Eyed Peas). You can stay fit for it by working out to this video on repeat.
