Premiere: Rosechild, ‘Good Enough’

A certain hit single from two decades ago urged listeners to “breathe in, breathe out,” and in some ways the new single from Rosechild could be a companion song. “Good Enough” is the first single from the forthcoming EP by the L.A. quartet, who make blues as filtered through the alternative ’90s, with powerful grooves, dramatic soft/loud sweeps and the smoldering vocals of frontwoman Haile Meirow. The band got its start a couple of years ago when Meirow moved to L.A. from Colorado and met guitarist Joshua Martinez. Bassist Dan Boos and drummer Bruno Ragolia came on to form Rosechild’s muscular rhythm section, and the foursome went to work in their Glendale studio, releasing the EP “Remedies” in late 2014. The quartet’s new self-produced single is a reminder, Meirow says, to tune out the din of modern culture and count your blessings. “We’re always looking for more when the love happens to be right here at our fingertips,” she explains. “There are so many distractions and comparisons in this world calling us to a bad head space. ‘Good Enough’ reminds us to breathe and be happy with what you’ve got.” The single is out Friday.
