Geneva Jacuzzi shares a sweet, gentle tune from “Technophelia,” her first full-length album in five years. Let’s be clear, the song is aerobically gentle, a good warm-up with a beat reminiscent of “Safety Dance,” and it’s as sweet as blood flavored ice cream, a delicacy according to someone somewhere for sure. Clocking in at 5 1/2 minutes, “Cannibal Babies” revolves around the hypnotic repetition of things like “cannibals coming out of my sex,” “bite me,” and “eat your sex,” all the while discerning who is or is not a cannibal. Jacuzzi is surely one of a kind, an oddity, a spectacle that never forsakes a half-ass performance, making music and art out of objects like fax machines or blow up dolls. While her self-produced bedroom synth recordings are treasured, “Technophelia” includes both DIY and studio tracks fleshed out with producer Chris Coady. With titles like “I’m A TV,” “Ark Of The Zombies,” “Blogasms In Babeland,” and “Godmaker,” the collection of 13 songs comes out Feb. 6 through Medical Records on white vinyl. For now, watch Geneva Jacuzzi exercise with a dirty mouth in this Michael Shroads-directed (and edited by Jacuzzi) music video.
