Almost exactly a year after Jessica Lea Mayfield rocked the Echo in support of her third album “Make My Head Sing,” the Ohio-bred singer-songwriter returned for a solo outing. And Friday night at the Bootleg Theater, the 26-year-old shone, holding the crowd transfixed with her songs and some Elliott Smith covers (last year she released an album of the latter she made with Seth Avett). The moody lighting gave the show an especially intimate feel. Jonny Fritz, performing in tandem with Josh Hedley, opened the show.
