The impact of David Bowie’s passing continues to reverberate in the music community: Five tribute concerts are scheduled this month around Southern California to salute his music.

► Tonight’s benefit show, Celebrating David Bowie at the Roxy, features guest vocalists Gary Oldman, Nikka Costa, Ewan McGregor, Angelo Moore, Gaby Moreno, Eric Dover and Holly Palmer performing with a host of luminaries, some of whom contributed heavily to Bowie’s ultimate release, “Blackstar.” Scheduled to appear are Scrote, Tim Lefebvre, Lyle Workman, Eric Schermerhorn, The Section Quartet, David Ryan Harris, Joe Sumner, Carina Round, Dorian Holley, Chris Bruce, Blair Sinta, Gary Novak, Nayanna Holley, Paul Bushnell, Jebin Bruni, Zac Rae, Ron Dziubla, John Gold, John Beasley, Louis Cole, Brett Hool, Jordan Katz, Josh Smith, Mahsa Zargaran, Jeremy Little, Matt Rohde, Joshua Lopez, Dave Ralicke, James King, Jeff Babko, Brett Farkas, Jonathan Clark, Rob Shirakbari, Princess Frank, Celia Chavez, Mike Klooster, Jamila Ford, Dave Schulz, Alex Painter, Abe Rounds, Rachel Eckroth, Chris Bautista, Davey Chegwidden, Marcus Wolf, Simon Petty, Emily Zuzik, Michael Jerome and Paul Jensen. Proceeds go to the Max’s Kansas City Project, a non profit serving the arts & youth communities.

► Feb. 11: Current Toys, Gimme Danger (members of Slow Hollows and Casinos) and Arjuna Genome team up for a $5 benefit show at the Smell.

Feb. 13: The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa hosts a Bowie salute (with proceeds going to War Child USA), featuring Purple Mountains Majesties, the Futures League, the Gromble, Hank and her Ponies, Fellow Bohemian, the Bluffs and more.

Feb. 16: The Satellite’s always-good monthly tribute night turns to Bowie, with a free show featuring the likes of Adam Busch, Brett Farkas, Chris Seefried, Chris Stills, Dan Wilson, Duniven, Emmett Skyy, Eric Kufs, Greg Collins, Jerry Borge, Jonny Flaugher, Laura Mace, Miya Folick, Theo Katzman, Tim Heidecker and Mindy Jones.

Feb. 29: A Bowie salute at the Echo will feature Caught a Ghost, Tearist, Hammered Satin and some big surprises. Watch for the official announcement on the Echo’s site.
