- Tuesday: Celebrate Fat Tuesday with one of two New Orleans-flavored shows — Butler, Bernstein & the Hot 9 at Royce Hall, or Jon Cleary at the Echo.
- Wednesday: Albert Hammond Jr. visits the Roxy behind his third so album, “Momentary Masters.” The Strokes guitarist is joined by Nico Yaryan.
- Wednesday/Thursday: Midweek nostalgia attack — Guster perform 1999’s “Lost and Gone Forever” and 2003’s “Keep It Together” on a two-night stand at the Teragram Ballroom.
- Thursday: James Supercave’s debut album “Better Strange” is out Friday, and the L.A. band celebrates with a cozy show the night before at downtown’s Resident.
- Thursday/Friday/Saturday: Indie-rock heroes Built to Spill do three nights at the Echo behind their latest album “Untethered Moon.”
- Friday: The Record Company celebrate Friday’s release of their debut full-length “Give It Back to You” with a show at the Echoplex.
- Saturday: Eight bands, a parade and more — the Year of the Monkey is feted Saturday at the Chinese New Year Festival from noon to 8 p.m. On the live music stage of the free, all-ages event, Valley Queen, Kid Bloom, Veronica Bianqui, James Allen Spirit, the Slightlys, Molly Moore & Brandyn Burnette, Jubilo Drive and Nightair perform.
- Saturday: The Wild Honey Orchestra salutes the Beach Boys with a huge, guest-laden show at the Alex Theatre benefiting the Autism Think Tank and the Children’s Music Fund.
