McCoy Kirgo, the singer-guitarist and one of the creative forces in the late, lamented Talk in Tongues, has unveiled his first song as SweeTTooth, his four-month-old collaboration with lover-of-synths Mac Hill. The duo’s first single “Let Go” fits nicely into the already-crowded world of high-register dance-pop (think RAC, Wildcat! Wildcat!, MGMT), melting a variety of synth textures — buzzy, glossy, squishy, spacey — over electronic handclaps while Kirgo muses about “putting the world on hold.” There seems to be no better way to do that these days than synth-pop.
