Brooklyn quartet Parquet Courts’ two shows over the weekend at the Highland Park American Legion felt like old-fashioned DIY affairs — in both setting and energy. The band’s 22-song set on Sunday night stoked the fires of anticipation for the new album “Human Performance,” out April 8. After kicking off the show with the pummeling “No, No, No!” from last year’s “Monastic Living,” the foursome got right to it, performing “Dust” and “Paraphrased” from the forthcoming album. In all, they played seven songs from the new release, including the title track, “Outside,” “I Was Just Here,” “One Man No City” and “Berlin Got Blurry.” The rest of the night’s set touched on previous releases, including the title tracks to “Sunbathing Animal” and “Content Nausea,” finishing the show with the latter album’s “Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth.” An overzealous female fan jumped onstage at one point, asked the crowd if they of a Donald Trump and flashed her breasts.

“D.A. Spunt Co.” opened the night with a two-song set — the latter being a performance art piece where he looped noises, poured wet cement into his snare drum and proceeded to drop a handful of drum sticks into it.
