Jana Hunter’s Lower Dens and L.A. four-piece Gardens & Villa brought the tunes to the Natural History Museum on Friday night for the second of 2016’s five First Fridays events. The theme for this year’s series is “Bigger Screen, Bigger Science,” and a big crowd arrived early to explore the museum’s exhibitions, enjoy DJ sets from Val Fleury and Aaron Byrd and then take in the indie-rock in the Hall of Mammals.

First Fridays continues April 1, with Seattle-based Car Seat Headrest and Night Beats providing the music. True believers, though, may want to arrive early for that week’s moderated discussion, “In Space, No One Can Hear You Emote.”

Tickets are $18.
