Stream: Buzz Bands LA’s ‘Dear Austin, Love L.A.’ Sampler

Think of this as a get-to-know-you.

Eight of Los Angeles’ most compelling emerging artists perform Wednesday, March 16, at Buzz Bands LA’s “Dear Austin, Love L.A.” showcase. The day party kicks off at noon at The Main II, 603 Red River St. in downtown Austin.

Our sampler is sequenced in reverse order of set times. Here’s a brief recap of what it holds:

The Moth & the Flame — “Young & Unafraid” is the title track of the anthemic rockers’ full-length debut, which came out Feb. 26.

Miya Folick — The multi-faceted “Strange Darling,” the debut EP from the singer-songwriter-enchantress, came out in December.

Brian Whelan — After paying his dues as a sideman for Dwight Yoakam (among others), Whelan returns with his second solo album “Sugarland” on March 25.

James Supercave — The quintet’s full-length debut “Better Strange,” which came out Feb. 12, is a spctcular psych-pop outing of arty arrangements and compelling themes.

The Soft White Sixties — The just-released “Sorry to Say” is the first music to emerge from the rock ’n’ soul outfit’s new album, due later this year as a follow-up to 2014’s “Get Right.”

Feels — Out in February, the fuzz-tastic quartet’s self-titled debut album is a blast of alternately raging and brooding garage-punk.

Kid Bloom — The eclectic young indie-rockers have released a trickle of singles en route to an EP later this year.

Paul Bergmann — Possessed with a rich troubadour’s voice and keen lyrical chops, Bergmann released his “Romantic Thoughts” EP last fall.
