Last night, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off their first of three shows at Los Angeles Sports Arena on “The River” tour, in which they’re playing the 1980 double-album in its entirety. It took two hours to get through “The River” from start to finish, AND THEN they played ninety more minutes of songs, basically delivering the biggest, mightiest serving of The Boss anyone could ever hope for. Springsteen dedicated their performance of “Wrecking Ball” to the venue, as these will be the final shows hosted by the Arena before it’s demolished at the young age of fifty-nine.
