While there wasn’t a lot of smiling on stage, Junior Boys brought euphoric vibes to The Regent last night. They’re just serious about making sure the audience gets hypnotized by their minimalist dance beats. The Canadian electronic-pop group is touring behind their latest album, “Big Black Coat,” which was released  by City Slang last month. The guys were joined by fellow Canadian electronic artist Jessy Lanza, who played songs from her 2013 debut, “Pull My Hair Back,” as well as material off her upcoming album “Oh No” (co-produced by Jeremy Greenspan from Junior Boys), out May 13 on Hyperdub, fulfilling the fantasies of fans who worship her particular blend of electronic dance music and 90s R&B.
