The Herms

Three years since their last album, The Herms return with “Welcome All Tourists,” out April 1st on  Narnack Records. Notably, it’s been four years since Narnack released any music, so it’s a pretty special thing for all those involved. The Herms moved down to Los Angeles from the Bay about a year ago, quickly finding a warm fuzzy place for their hybrid garage rock in the eastside music scene. On “Parades,” singer Matt Lutz remains silent, allowing his left-handed guitar to tell a story, punctuated by bassist Vlad Duran and drummer Mike Leyva. For me, it’s a movement through images. First someplace hot and deserted, like a ghost town, then an invasion from outer space, and finally a wistful sunset, with possibly everything on fire.
