Desert Daze, the eclectic DIY festival that for the past four years has brought increasingly impressive lineups of bands to the Coachella Valley, is on the move.

Held in the spring the past three years at Sunset Ranch Oasis in Mecca (just north of the Salton Sea), Desert Daze will move to a fall date at a location to be announced in Joshua Tree for the fifth edition of the fesitval, says Phil Pirrone of the collective Moon Block (fka Moon Block Party), which stages the festival. Details will be forthcoming, he added.

Last year’s lineup featured Failure, the Budos Band, Warpaint, Minus the Bear, Dan Deacon and Chelsea Wolfe, among others. In 2014, Autolux, Liars, Blonde Redhead and the Raveonettes topped the bill.

On May 4, Moon Block is staging Desert Daze Phoenix, highlighted by Tortoise and Chicano Batman.
