TÜLIPS’ edgy, riot grrrl-inspired indie-rock gets in your head, which is exactly the setting for the new video for “Vertigo,” the lead track on the L.A. quartet’s full-length “Doom & Bloom.” “Have you ever had a crush on someone and watched the entire relationship play out in your head?” says the video’s director, Victoria Innocenzi. “‘Vertigo’ explores the ‘what-if’ moments we have.” Bryce Pyoer and Jason Avezzano star in the video (with cameos from the band’s tag-team songwriters Taleen Kali and Angie Bloom). Says Bloom of the song: “Took the David Bowie approach. Written in about a day. It works almost chronologically. Beginning: innocent romance. Middle: the hopes of rekindling. End: realization things change no matter if you don’t want them to.” This one is for that queasy feeling that comes when you realize life would be better if you could back things up five minutes and get a do-over.
