The Kills probably work better after dark. The duo of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince — expanded to a four-piece on their current tour — followed their 6 p.m. Friday set at Coachella with a show that raged late into the night Monday at the Mayan Theatre. They played five songs off their new album “Ash & Ice,” their fifth and first since 2011, kicking off the show with the title track from 2005’s “No Wow” and ending their three-song encore with “Sour Cherry” off 2008’s “Midnight Boom.” The Big Pink and L.A. Witch opened the show.
