Death Grips headlined a rager at the Fox Theater in Pomona on Wednesday night, playing their set in nearly total darkness [hence, the dearth of photographs here] and inspiring a mosh pit for the ages. The floor of the Fox was a swirling mass of bodies (including Savages drummer Fay Milton) as fans clambered over the railing to take part, some betting garreled over by security.

U.K. post-punk quartet Savages turned in another in a string of performances that has people heaping “best live band around” praise on them. As they did Friday at Coachella, they laid it all on the line, mixing songs from both their albums and singer Jehnny Beth again going into the crowd several times. At one point, it looked like chaos, as the crowd seemed to swirl around her. Then she re-emerged atop the hands of the fans and made it back to the stage.
