Coachella 2016, Weekend 2: A momentous Saturday with N.W.A

Ice Cube had teased an N.W.A reunion for his appearance at Coachella and it almost happened the first weekend, with MC and DJ Yella joining him on the main stage. On Saturday of Weekend 2, Dr. Dre joined in, making it the first time the surviving members of the band had performed together in 27 years.

It was one of many highlights of Saturday’s festivities, which included a smattering of overt and subtle remembrances of Prince, who died on Thursday. Guns N’ Roses delivered another muscular headlining set (although this weekend without a cameo from Angus Young); Kendrick Lamar guested with SZA; and Run the Jewels brought a whole party list of guests, including DJ Shadow, Travis Barker, Big Boi, Zack de la Rocha, Phantogram and Gary Clark Jr.
