► It’s all-L.A., all-star lineup at the Novo: X, Los Lobos and the Blasters.
The Melvins, whose new album “Three Men and a Baby” (started in 1999, finished in 2015) came out last month, play the Troubadour, a co-headlining date with Napalm Death. Melt Banana opens. This edition of the Melvin sees Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover teaming with Redd Kross/OFF! bassist Steve McDonald — one of three bass players featured on the Melvin’s upcoming album “Basses Loaded” (due in June).
Violent Femmes visit the Orpheum Theatre behind their new album “We Can Do Anything,” with Jake Brebes suporting.
► It’ll be bouncing at the Regent Theater, where Big Freedia heads up a party that includes NK Riot, DJ Hey Mesa and Tuff Ghost.
► New York multi-intrumentalist/producer Gryffin holds forth at the El Rey Theatre. Get there early for Elohim.
