► U.K. singer Dua Lipa, the new pop daring of the moment, heads up the lineup at It’s a School Night at Bardot. Annabel Jones, Cosmos & Creature and Maala join the fun.
► French songstress Lou Doillon visits the Roxy Theatre behind her second album “Lay Low,” with Draemings supporting.
► Beware of Darkness, back with their first new music since their 2013 full-length, headlines Resident. Get there early for Audiomammal and Flames of Durga.
► May’s residencies rage on. To itemize: Gavin Turek at the Bootleg Theater (with Monogem and Dede from Tiny Hearts); Drinking Flowers at the Echoplex (with Magic Wands, Dinner and Numb.er); the Soft White Sixties at the Satellite (with Dig the Kid, VEERS and Doja); Rod Melancon at the Silverlake Lounge (with  Caitlin Anne Webster, Jaimie Wyatt and Leroy from the North); and Vs Colour at the Hi Hat (with Barrows, Diamonds and Psychic Health).
