It was about a year ago that PHASES emerged, with four of the five members of JJAMZ carrying on with their catchy indie-pop machinations. Since then, they’ve released the full-length “For Life,” toured, played Coachella and Hangout Fest and generally embraced the spirit of their single “I’m in Love With My Life.”
And so it was Wednesday night at the Roxy when the quartet — Z Berg, Alex Greenwald, Michael Runion and Jason Boesel — packed the room for a hometown show. They opened with “Paradise” from their new “Afterparty” EP and played album highlights such as “New Illusion,” “Silhouette” and “Cooler.” Berg performed a solo cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” and the other “J” in JJAMZ, James Valentine of Maroon 5, joined the band to play the title track from the 2012 JJAMZ album “Suicide Pact.”
RKCB preceded PHASES with a set that included their new single “Elevated,” and Collapsing Scenery opened the night.
