Score one for diplomacy. Freedom Fry — the French-American indie-pop duo of Parisian Marie Seyrat and Michigander Bruce Driscoll — originally released their single “Shaky Ground” in January 2015. (And, hey, didn’t the ground shake just last night in L.A.?) It’s a carefree ditty made for skipping down a garden path, and upon its release it rocketed to No. 1 on that purveyor of all things catchy, Hype Machine. Now it’s been tweaked for a release on Polydor France and their own Caveman Arts Society imprint.

Oh, and Franco-American relations: The husband-and-wife team today released a two-part video (directed by Y2K), the first part in English and the second in French. In either language, Driscoll and Seyrat are living the Hollywood life, partying at a mansion under the watchful eyes of a strange man and animated coconuts. “No coconuts were harmed in the making of this music video,” they insist, and we’ll take their word for it.
