Canadian indie-rockers Tokyo Police Club renewed their affection for Los Angeles — and this city’s fans for them — with an electric show Wednesday night at the El Rey Theatre. The band in April released a new EP, “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Radness: Part One,” and the latest single “Not My Girl” was one of the highlights. TPC also played favorites “Toy Guns,” “Your English Is Good” and “Nature of the Experiment,” with frontman David Monks getting up close with fans and then wading into the crowd to perform a song from among them.

We Were Promised Jetpacks opened the show.
