Dinosaur Jr. have released the first video from their new record, “Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not,” due Aug. 5 via Jagjaguwar. The release of the album, a follow-up to 2012’s “I Bet On Sky,” was announced by none other than Henry Rollins, who proclaimed, “Like every other Dinosaur Jr. record, it is fantastic. They are one of my favorite bands and one of the best live bands ever. I cannot wait for you to hear this record. You’re going to love it.” Dinosaur Jr. topped the news with a killer performance of the first single, “Tiny,” on “Later… With Jools Holland followed by the studio release of the track.” “Tiny” is classic Dinosaur Jr. — catchy, raw, aggressive and loud with a melt-your-face guitar solo.
The video for “Tiny,” was directed by Laurie Collyer, who “got to know J Mascis in 2012 when we hired him to compose the score for my film, Sunlight Jr., a love story set among the ruins of the American dream starring Matt Dillon and Naomi Watts.” The video features the cutest star in the history of ever – J Mascis’ bulldog, Beefy. Puppy! Ahem. Anyway, Beefy is snoring up a storm outside Dinosaur Jr.’s rehearsal room while he dreams up the perfect day with his buddy, J. Beefy the Bulldog gets to skate, frolic in a park and hang out with Dinosaur Jr. Not bad for a day in the life of a dog.
