Saturday’s Los Angeles concerts:
► Tom Petty and crew — as Mudcrutch — does the first of two sold-out shows at the Fonda Theatre in support of their new album “2.” Get there early for the Shelters, whose self-titled debut came out in April.
► Singer-songwriter Shana Halligan does a big benefit for the Children’s Music Fund, a nonprofit that brings music to sick kids — at the Teragram Ballroom. The L.A.-based songstress, whose album “Back to Me” came out last fall, is joined by Jungle Fire, JJ Flores and Mr. Numberonderful.
► It’s Los Tigres del Norte and Café Tacvba at the Forum.
► Real Estate, with guitarist Julian Lynch now taking over for Matt Mondanile (now dba Ducktails) visits the Observatory.
► The Roots are joined by T.I., the Internet and surprise guests at the Novo.
► Ben Watt visit the Bootleg Theater in support of his new album “Fever Dream,” with Matt Kivel opening.
► Green Gerry showcases some new tunes in a date at the Hi Hat, joined by the Parlour Suite and Inspired and the Sleep.
► And the lineup for the early (4:30 p.m.) show at the Echo is headed by by Aussie quartet Stonefield, joined by L.A.-based artists bands Pom Poms, Ramonda Hammer, Iris and Edith Crash.
