Deerhoof brought “The Magic” — the title of the new album they released three weeks ago — and their all-around musical wizardry to the Teragram Ballroom on Wednesday night. The long-running rock provocateurs performed a handful of songs from the new album, including “Kafe Mania!,” “Plastic Thrills,” “Debut” and “Nurse Me,” along with some gems from their catalog, 2014’s “Paradise Girls,” 2008’s “Fresh Born” and 2012’s “Bad Kids to the Front.” Sandwiched between the latter two was Deerhoof’s cover of “Pour Some Sugar on Me.” They finished the concert by firing up the wayback machine; the encores were comprised of “O’Malley, Forever Underdog” and “Come See the Duck” (both from 2005) and 2003’s “Panda Panda Panda” to close out the night. Oklahoma’s Skating Polly opened the show after some experimental mojo from Signor Benedick the Moor.
