Brooklyn folk-rockers Woods broght their lush music and good vibes to the Echoplex on Saturday, playing songs from a deep catalog that includes “City Sun Eater in the River of Light,” their ninth album, released in April.

The good vibes came in handy, as Woods frontman Jeremy Earl suffered a gear malfunction and played with acoustic guitar loaned by support act Cian Nugent. “Cian Nugent saves the day,” he proclaimed, leading Woods through a earnest, reverently received set that included an extended version of “Sun City Creeps,” backed by trumpet and saxophone, the harmonica-soaked “Cali In a Cup” and “Moving to the Left.”

Nugent, from Ireland, remarked that even inside the air-conditioned Echoplex it was hotter than he’s used to in his native Dublin. He opened solo with a ballad before his band joined him for a set including songs from his latest album, “Night Fiction,” his third, also just out on Woods’ Woodsist label. They were joined by Carrie Keith from the opening act, Gun Outfit, for a big jam on the 12-minute closer “Year of the Snake.”

L.A.-based Gun Outfit opened with some expansive Americana of their own, highlighted by songs from their most recent full-length “Dearn All Over,” and EP, “Two Way Player.”
