Father John Misty schedules pre-FYF show (and other FYF updates)

The irrepressible Father John Misty will play the El Rey Theatre on Friday, Aug. 26, the eve of this year’s FYF Fest.

It’s one of more than a dozen “FYF After Dark” sideshows in local clubs and theaters featuring artists playing the festival, Aug. 27-28.

Tickets will be sold via a password-protected pre-sale to limit scalping. Register here for the presale. Presale begins at noon today.

► FYF will co-present a pet adoptions drive on Sunday, Aug. 21, at Moorpark Park in Studio City — it’s not only good for furry creatures, but there will be FYF Fest ticket giveaways.

► FYF has issued a “low ticket warning” for the festival; there are only “a few hundred” weekend passes left, the festival announced.
