The Kills roared back through Southern California over the weekend, the duo of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince having expanded their ranks to a four-piece (the formation in which they played at Coachella) and hitting hard with songs from their new album “Ash & Ice,” their fifth. Starting and ending Friday’s show at the Fox Theater in Pomona with mid-Aughts favorites — the title track from 2005’s “No Wow” and “Sour Cherry” from 2008, respectively — the Kills played 18 songs, seven from the new album, and married two songs released eight years apart (“Pots and Pans” and “Monkey 23”) into a ripping, main set-ending medley.
L.A. trio Autolux opened the night, mixing songs from their new album “Pussy’s Dead” with tunes from their 2010 and 2004 releases.
