D. Wing

“Buried” comes from the mixtape “Los Angeles: 2019,” released by D. Wing this past July. Wing (the D. stands for Daniel) sings from a soft spot in his heart shared by Tevin Campbell and Philip K. Dick, who get along just fine in the dystopian sci-fi romance of D. Wing’s musical soundscape. Produced by Tim K  of Tiny Hearts, the mixtape repurposes snippets from the Vangelis soundtrack for “Blade Runner” to create lovelorn vignettes of his own. “Buried” feels more like a moment than a song. It sweeps in, delivers a woeful feeling and fades out before you’ve truly processed those high notes in Wing’s register. The cinematic video was directed and shot by Jessica Collins, who has made four videos with Wing, and some for Seth Bogart and Gavin Turek.
