Sometimes it’s hard keeping up with the Jones. Mindy Jones, who has lent her vocals to Moby, teamed up in Daniel Ahearn & the Jones and released music simply as The Jones, this week unveiled the latest from her new project, ADLT VDEO. It’s a collaboration with Luke Top, the Fool’s Gold frontman who earlier this year released a solo EP, and it finds the duo diving into dark pop. The single “Break” comes calling with filmy synths, propulsive rhythms and Jones at her most urgent, all recalling the shadowy sides of ’80s New Wave. Although the duo’s music has already found its way into various television shows, “Break,” out via Top’s Grand Gallop Music, is their first original release, following last month’s cover of “Mad World.”
