The new, collaborative showcase Blend LA debuted with a Saturday matinee showcase at Resident, with six bands delivering the goods. The lineup for the event was curated by promotion companies Beating Lights and Purple Bite PR, the Play Like a Girl collective, the blogs Badass Bands and Buzz Bands LA and the venue itself.

Six artists (the set times were chosen at random) each delivered impressive performances — Elle Belle, Iris, Skin & Bones, Saint Cecilia, Cellars and Kid Cadaver. And the free sampler CDs were cool too.
