► Day 1 of the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival brings Lil Wayne, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rock, Chance the Rapper, Kaytranada, Toro y Moi, TOKiMONSTA and more to Exposition Park. Set times here.
► Speaking of protests: Fifty years ago today, rock music fans protests a 10 p.m. curfew for clubs in West Hollywood — an uprising documented in Dominic Priore’s book ” Tonight at the Echoplex, the anniversary is saluted at the Echo and Echoplex. “50th Anniversary of the Sunset Strip Demonstrations” features Love Revisited (guitarist Johnny Echols and back-up band Baby Lemonade), Chicano rock legends the Premiers, the Pandoras, the Loons, the Creation Factory and more.
Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band play the Teragram Ballroom in support of Devine’s new album “Instigator.” Devine also announced that proceeds from his albums’ sales on Bandcamp and tips collected at his shows on this tour would be donated to Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
StarRo headline the Roxy Theatre, joined by Joyce Wrice and Tate Tucker.
