A longtime staple of Los Angeles nightlife got a well-earned reboot Tuesday night, as Dim Mak Tuesdays took over the Echoplex to celebrate the label’s 20th anniversary and label founder Steve Aoki’s 39th birthday.

It flashed back to the pre-cake days of Dim Mak, whose Tuesday night parties at Cinespace on Hollywood Boulevard offered a chance to dance, make nice with Mr. Aoki himself (back in the day, he’d chat people up during his DJ set, it was so informal) and look cool in The Cobra Snake’s party pictures.

The Echoplex blowout featured Dim Mak labelmates ZEDD, Krewella, Bloody Beetroots and Borgore, along with guests Uffie and Kid Ink and ex-Dim Mak Tuesdays resident DJs Them Jeans and Dan Oh. And, of course, Aoki himself.

There was cake.
