Silhouettes and sunsets flow across the screen in the self-shot-and-directed video for Big Search‘s “Distant Shore,” from Matt Popieluch’s latest album, “Life Dollars,” out on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records. This is the first music video Popieluch has made on his own. With warm colors illuminating the outline of his shadow, the camera captures the immediacy and simple beauty of a form daydreaming through its surroundings, finding patterns as we follow him from the windows of his home, down cracked concrete sidewalks, all the way to the beach. The song itself is hazy and mellow, with pretty harmonies accompanying the high notes of his pleading.
