Winnowing down the truckload of 2016 songs by Los Angeles artists to a somewhat-manageable 101 seemed especially difficult this year. But in picking my favorites for the annual Buzz Bands LA 101, I tried to represent the various constituencies we cover here on the site. Which means you’re as likely to find a raging rocker as you are an electro-pop ditty as you are an acoustic meditation as you are a garage-pop nugget.
