Here is a taste of Nine Inch Nails’ new EP, “Not the Actual Events,” which comes out Friday. Mastermind Trent Reznor collaborated with “now official bandmate” Atticus Ross on the release, which Reznor describes as “an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make. It’s an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story.” “Burning Bright (Field on Fire)” sounds like the noise inside our head on the night of Nov. 8. Also coming Friday: “The Fragile: Deviations 1,” a four-disc, 150-minute version of NIN’s 1999 album features 37 instrumental, alternate and unreleased tracks. Coming next year: expanded editions of “Broken” and “The Downward Spiral.”
